"The Golan Heights" To whom do they belong?
On February 3, 2004, in "The Sun," of Colville, Washington, the organization called "FLAME" placed an other one of it's propaganda advertisements, titled "The Golan Heights" To whom do they belong? Can Israel Survive Without Them? http://factsandlogic.org
This advertisement contains, what I believe to be, deliberate deception (most people would call them lies). There is a lot of obvious propaganda in the document, along with inflammatory claims and charges, in what appears to be an attempt to justify the actions by the State of Israel, (the Jews) against their Palestinian (Arab) neighbors. However, I do not believe that promoting this kind of deception through the FLAME ads is aiding their cause. Colville and the surrounding area of Stevens and Ferry Counties, have many Christian Church Denominations, and people very familiar with Scripture. I belong to one of those groups. We for one are going to use this Jewish propaganda and the FLAME ad(s), to prove that much of the content is deliberate deception, as can be easily shown from historical and Biblical records. We will use FLAME as an example of Jewish propaganda, to all seeking truth.
What are the Facts? Historical Background? The FLAME article states: "The Golan was always part of the Jewish homeland."
The truth is: The Golan was NEVER a part of the "Jewish" homeland. Biblical history places the region called the "Golan" as part of ancient Syria (Aram) even before the divisions of the Kingdom of Yisrael, into the Northern Kingdom of Yisrael and the Southern Kingdom of the Yahudi (at least 1000 years BC). The land area of the Golan was under the influence of the Empires of David and Solomon during their reign over Biblical Yisrael, but was not homeland, or under control of the Southern Kingdom of the Yahudi. The Golan was never under the control of the Jews until the war of 1967, when the Jews captured the area from Syria.
The FLAME article states: "In the 1967 Six-Day War, Syria attacked Israel and was defeated. Israel occupied the Golan Heights and in 1981, for all practical purposes, annexed them."
But, the complete truth is: In early 1967, Israel believed that Syria and Egypt appeared to be "readying" for an attack on Israel. However, on June 5, 1967, the Jewish State struck FIRSTand attacked. During the 1967war, Israel captured Syria's Golan Heights. A few months later the UN passed Resolution 242, calling for Israel to withdraw from occupied (captured) lands, in exchange for peace, but they have never left Syria's Golan Heights. Soon after the 1967 war, Israel adopted a policy deliberately designed to establish settlements of Jewish citizens in the captured territories that would be difficult for later Israeli governments to remove.
These type of settlement activities violate the principles set by the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits such activity on lands seized in battle. But, the truth is, every Israeli government has expanded these illegal settlements through expropriating Arab land, and building on the captured land, homes for the Jews. This was happening even during the times Israeli leaders were negotiating for peace with the Palestinians.
The people occupying the present day land area called Israel, are, for the most, NOT comprised of Biblical Yisraelites (i.e. descendants of Ya'aqob/Yisrael through Shem, son of Noah). The Jewish people are mostly Ashkenazi Jews of Khazar-Turkish-East European descent through Ashkenaz. Ashkenaz was a son of Gomer, who was a son of Japheth, who was a son of Noah. Gen. 10:3. The Ashkenazi Jews are "Japhethites," not "Semites." The Palestinians are a people originally descending from the ancient Philistines, now amalgamated with Arabs. Strangely enough, in a unique twist, the name of the territory of the historical enemies of the Yisraelites (who no longer inhabit the land) has become the familiar title of "Palestine," for all of what was at one time known as the 'Holy Land.' The word Palestine is a derivative of the word Philistine(s), the ancient inhabitants of "Palestine."
Until the Jewish State begins to abide by the many UN mandates that it has ignored or deliberately violated, withdraws from occupied Palestinian land, shows consideration, compassion, and kindness to their neighbor (Gal. 5:14); and until America begins to treat, and fund the oppressed Palestinian people on an equal footing with the Jews in Israel, America will continue to be a target by those who view it as a primary source of their oppression. By March 2002, it has been reported (in the Oct. 2002 National Geographic), that 67 percent of the Palestinians in the Territory illegally occupied by Israel, were living under the poverty level of less than two dollars a day! This no doubt contributes to a great sense of despair for the Palestinian people, that since the mid-1980s has hastened the rise of Palestinian extremist groups. The Jews are simply reaping what they have sown on their neighbors, through actions that are completely void of any Biblical or historical "Christian" principles.
It should really be no surprise to anyone that the Jews and the State of Israel are hated by their Palestinian neighbors. If this continues, the area will never have peace. FLAME in its advertisement and Jewish propaganda is simply proving the contempt that many Jews have for all that is good, righteous, and truthful, when it is not seen in their own conceited interest. Antagonizing and continuous oppression against ones neighbor, will, in my opinion, seldom contribute to a lasting, peaceful relationship.
